(New Launch!) Birdy DA20 | Powered by Shimano Dura-Ace | 11-Speed | Performance Foldable Bike
The Birdy DA20 is the ultimate folding bike for cyclists desiring high performance, speed, and agility on the road. The Birdy DA20 has a similar DNA to the Birdy R20, with the stiff, stable monocoque frame and the 20-inch Hubsmith quick engagement wheelset.
We've upped the ante of this Birdy to a whole new level of performance by slapping on the ultimate combination of the mechanical 11-speed Shimano Dura-Ace derailleur and Dura-Ace titanium cassette! The Birdy DA20 is up for any challenge with its combination of drivetrain performance and a lightweight build that’s easy to handle with absolute precision.
At 9.8kg*, it is the lightest 20” wheel full suspension folding bike in the market!
The Birdy DA20 boasts a superior ride thanks to its 20-inch Hubsmith wheelset, designed for enhanced speed and smoother rolling on paved roads. The larger wheels provide increased stability and efficiency, making the Birdy DA20 ideal for road cycling and longer commutes. Combined with Made-in-Japan Panaracer Minits tyres, the Birdy DA20 delivers a faster, more responsive ride, without sacrificing compact folding capability that defines the Birdy lineup.
The Birdy DA20 is equipped with the Shimano 11-speed Dura-Ace Rear derailleur and titanium/chromoly 11-30 Cassette, Shimano's cutting-edge components aimed at discerning road cyclists looking for the absolute best. It offers smooth shifting performance and fantastic durability while remaining lightweight. The 11-speed drivetrain allows for precise and immediate gear changes at high speed and torque, allowing you to remain completely in control.
We've upped the gear ratios of the Birdy DA20 with a larger 54T Narrow-Wide chainring. Achieve a higher top speed with a longer gear ratios and reduce chain drops with a NW chainring that grips the chain securely without losing efficiency.
Despite its speed-focused design, the Birdy DA20 doesn’t compromise on comfort. Like all Birdy models, the Birdy DA20 is built with a full suspension system that absorbs shocks from uneven roads, giving you a smooth ride whether you're cycling on tarmac or less predictable surfaces. Paired with the lightweight, hydroformed aluminum frame, this ensures that you can maintain comfort on long rides without compromising on the bike's performance or durability.
Safety and control are essential at high speeds, and the Birdy DA20 is built with the TRP Spyre mechanical disc brake system. Designed for precise braking power, these reliable brakes give you full control in any riding condition whether it's a fast-paced city stop or a controlled descent. The responsive stopping power ensures confidence, especially in wet or unpredictable environments, making the Birdy DA20 as safe as it is fast.
The TRP Spyre brakes are unique with dual actuated pistons, providing controlled power, modulation and even brake pad wear.
Like other Birdy bikes, the Birdy DA20 boasts a compact folding design, allowing you to take it anywhere without hassle. Folding down in under 15 seconds to compact dimensions, it fits easily into small spaces whether you're commuting, storing it at home, or packing it for travel. At just 9.8kg, the Birdy DA20's lightweight frame ensures that you can carry it with great ease, making it ideal for both urban riders and serious road cyclists who need a high-performance folding bike.
The folding design makes it a standout in the world of performance folding bikes. It has one of the smallest folds amongst 20" folding bikes with full suspension at 72 x 62 x 34cm. The Birdy DA20 also can be pushed when folded without the need of any rack mounted wheels, adding to its versatility in commuting or travelling with it.
If you’re a discerning road cyclist who will only accept the absolute highest-performing folding bikes, the Birdy DA20 is for you. Its fast 20-inch wheels and lightweight, compact design already put it in the upper echelon of speedy folding bikes, but its Shimano Dura-Ace Drivetrain truly pushes it to the next level as a bike that delivers on smooth speed and performance. At the same time, it doesn’t sacrifice on foldable convenience or comfort. The Birdy DA20 surpasses all expectations and delivers a riding experience that’s faster, longer, and more efficient than any of its peers.
